‘Do you know of any organic curl leaf sprays or organic curl leaf cures?’

Hi there We have come to live with leaf curl in the organic orchard. These leaves will fall off eventually and new healthy leaves will grow. Spraying with copper is considered a good preventative but we feel it can do damage to the soil fungi and bacteria. The leaf curl is a spore and if you put a mat (old carpet or a tarpaulin) under the tree in early spring, it can prevent the spore from reaching the tree when it rains. If the tree is strong and healthy, the leaf curl will not affect its ability to fruit well.

  1. Hi there,

We love watching your new webisodes every weekend. We notice you often add volcanic rock dust to your beds prior to planting. I have looked for this in our local stores but haven’t been able to find it. Can you please let us know where we can get it from?

    1. Hi Lisa
If you live in Auckland you can get it from Kings Plant Barn at Silverdale, St Lukes and Henderson. Give them a call first to make sure they’ve got it in stock.
Rob also sells it at Parnell Farmers’ Market on Saturday morning and Grey Lynn Farmers’ Market on Sunday morning.
If you’re not in Auckland, you can try the manufacturers Environmental Fertilisers… http://environmentalfertilisers.co.nz/contact/
We’ll start selling it on Organic Edible Garden in the next couple of months.
Let us know how you get on. 🙂
